Is it the bottom ball joint that is the problem?

Can you get this pressed out, reconditioned?

OK. http://kangoo-trekka-club.org/workshop/For%20Sale.html

I did a front wish bone on mine.

I bought the part from Renault can’t remember how much, and was going to fit it myself.

How Renault have chosen to connect the inside of the wish bone to the chassis is unbelievable, and not for the want of trying I ended up taking it to the garage and let them fit it.

As always a nightmare.

Hi,

1.    Remove Propshaft: There are various allen head bolts holding this on, both the front diff, rear diff and underside of car (maybe torx).

2.    Remove rear wheels, undo big wheel nut and remove rear drive shafts, remove rear diff.

3.    Cut rear drive shafts as shown here. http://kangoo-trekka-club.org/workshop/4x4%20System/Driveshaft%20Removal.html

4.    Use drive shaft stubs to reattached rear wheels.

You could reverse this, but you would need new drive shafts.

Happy chopping!

Hello,

I own an 02 Renault Kangoo Trekka 4x4 and have a clicking sound underneath.  Could you tell me if it is fairly easy to strip off the prop shaft and the rear differential, I am mechano kit man when it comes to cars if I can see what is wrong, I will strip it out and replace it as I think garages these days laugh at you when they think they can charge what they like.

I there anywhere that shows any pictures of disabling the rear differential.  Do the half shafts outwards to the rear differential just pull straight out of the wheel sides when disassembling it or is it more complicated than that or i.e. taking the wheel off and taking bearings out to remove the half shaft.

Don,t get me wrong I love my Kangoo trekka but the amount of road use it does it is just as well to remove the prop shaft and the diff and get more miles to the gallen out of it (1.6 petrol, 111,000 mileage).

I have read all the way through the forum and it does sound like it is the prop or the diff.  As money is very tight at the moment, it is the best idea I have at the moment.

Look forward to your advice/any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Andy Raven
